Re: Review Filters You Have Had
Im using a fluval fx5
had it since aug2011
was using a 405 but no where near big enough for my tank
the fx5 is very easy to use and clean very good idea fluval have done is they have added a drain valve to it so easier to lift when empty as its a pain to move when under the tank.
very powerful can be loud if using it to skim the water another good feature is the impeller magnet is covered by a plate with an o-ring to stop debri getting to it very handy if using sand as a substrate.
have to be carefull of parts cost as a new impellor aint cheap, cheapest ive seen one is £40.
all round great filter keeps the tank clean.

Filter Review Fluval 105
Filter: Fluval 105
Year of first use: 2008
Condition purchased in: New
Year use ended and reason/s: still using great little filter good enough for any 3ft tank even if fully planted
Likes: Great for Aquariums up to 3ft. easy to clean. very quiet running. great shut off valve so the pipes don't leak.
Dislikes: the impeller shaft is very easy to break. it does have a cover but when cleaning u can damage it easy.
